National Eligibility cum Entrance Test

NEET 2018 (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is a national level medical entrance test regulated by the CBSE Board.
It is held for providing admissions in MBBS/BDS courses offered by all government and private medical colleges in India.

All seats (MBBS/BDS) of any medical/dental college will be filled by the score of NEET examination only.
As per the last order by Hon. Supreme Court, no other exam except NEET will be held for offering admission into MBBS/BDS courses in India.

The responsibility of the CBSE is limited to the conduct of the entrance examination, declaration of result and providing All India Rank to the Counseling Authorities and Admitting Institutions.

  • Nationality: Candidates should be an Indian Nationals or OCI (Overseas Citizen of India).
  • Age Limit: Minimum 17 years on 31st December of the year of admission. Maximum limit is 25 years for general candidates and 30 years for reserved categories.
  • Qualification: Students must have passed/appearing 12th or equivalent examination from any recognized board.
  • Percentage Criteria: Students must have secured minimum 50% marks in PCB group for general candidates and 45% (for general PH) and 40% (for SC/ST/OBC categories).

  • Physics: 45 Questions : 180 Marks
  • Chemistry: 45 Questions : 180 Marks
  • Zoology: 45 Questions : 180 Marks
  • Botany: 45 Questions : 180 Marks

Total: 180 Questions, 720 Marks


AIIMS is known as All India Institute of Medical Sciences entrance exam. It is a national level undergraduate medical entrance exam conducted to offer admission in MBBS programme. AIIMS entrance exam is conducted by All India Institute of Medical Sciences (New Delhi).

The test will be held in 26th& 27thMay 2018. AIIMS 2018 will be conducted for admission to 807 seats in 7 AIIMS institution including AIIMS, New Delhi.

AIIMS MBBS 2018 Eligibility Criteria
  • Applicants should have passed the 12th class under the 10+2 or Intermediate Science (I.Sc.) or an equivalent examination of a recognised University/ Board of any English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology as subject with minimum aggregate of 60 % marks
  • 50 % Marks required for SC/ST/OPH candidates.

AIIMS MBBS 2018 Syllabus will be Primarily the CBSE syllabus taught in Class 10+2 and common syllabus as notified by the Medical Council of India (MCI)

AIIMS 2018 Exam Pattern / Paper Pattern

AIIMS MBBS 2018 exam pattern follows the MCQ pattern.

The question will be asked from Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Knowledge & Aptitude. There will have 200 MCQ questions. The exam duration is 3.30 Hours.

  • Each correct answer will gain 1 mark.
  • Each incorrect response will be given - 1⁄3 (minus-one-third) marks.
  • No marks will be given for the questions not answered or marked for review.

AIIMS Question paper will be available in Hindi or English.Applicants must make sure that they choose or indicate whether they prefer to have the question paper in English or Hindi while filling the application form. This choice cannot be changed later at any stage.

AIIMS MBBS Exam Centres 2018

The list of AIIMS MBBS 2018 has been tentatively announced by the examination authority through the AIIMS MBBS Prospectus 2018. While filling the AIIMS MBBS 2018 application form, candidates will have to choose a total of 3 exam centres in order of priority from the total list of approximately 155 cities which have been offered as options. The allotted exam centre will be displayed on the candidate’s AIIMS MBBS Admit Card.

JIPMER Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility norms for MBBS course is mentioned below:

  • Candidates must be an Indian National.
  • OCI and NRI candidates are also eligible to apply.
  • Candidates must have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission i.e. must born on or before 1st January 2001. There is not any relaxation on age limit for reserved categories.
  • Students must have passed/appearing 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology subjects.
  • The candidate should have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English individually and should have scored minimum 50% marks in PCB (for general) and 40% marks (for SC/ST /OBC/ OPH (reserved).
  • General OPH candidates have to secure minimum 45% marks in the above mentioned subjects.
JIPMER Exam Pattern
  • Language: The exam will be conducted in English medium.
  • No. of Questions: The question paper will contain 200 multiple choice questions.
  • Mode of Exam: The exam will be organized through CBT (Computer Based Test) mode.
  • Negative Marking: one mark will be deducted for incorrect answers
  • Marking Scheme: Four marks will be given for each correct response.

JIPMER Syllabus

The syllabus for MBBS entrance exam will be based on the syllabus prescribed by State Board Hr. Sec. and CBSE for XI & XII Standards. The questions will be asked from different topics such as physics, chemistry, Biology, Logic and Quantitative Reasoning and English and Comprehension.

Qualifying Marks of JIPMER MBBS 2018

Candidates will need to score marks equivalent to certain percentiles in order to qualify JIPMER MBBS 2018 exam and proceed further in MBBS admission process. The minimum required percentile is different for different categories. Candidates can check category-wise minimum required percentile from the table given below.

JIPMER MBBS 2018 – Minimum Qualifying Percentile

The result of JIPMER MBBS 2018 will be declared on or before June 20, 2018. This year JIPMER Puducherry will take admission on 200 MBBS seats, including 150 seats in JIPMER Puducherry and 50 seats in JIPMER Karaikal campus.
